A friend asked me, on the occasion of my birthday, if I had made any resolutions. Frankly, I hadn't really thought about it but, in reflection, there was one thing that came to mind. I want to re-commit to my Wiccan path.
Now, I can do that alone, but recently I have come to miss teaching. After all, I have more free time to take on students, the room to teach and host a small gathering, and the interest to start up an abridged version of my prior coven. This time, however, there will be changes..for anyone interested...
First of all, I want to invited women 30 years old and older to participate. No more this...
...or this...
The Irish Craft deserves a certain level of respect and stability. It is not for "kicks" and it's not about cosplay. It's a Path of serious spiritual study. I'm not looking to form a "party coven" like some I know. I'm hoping that with age comes wisdom, and a more mature group may fare better together, and for longer.
I'm also not looking for a mob. No more of this...
...but more like this...
Also, this time around, I believe I would like to have this group females only. I am not opposed to teaching the Craft to men. I have done so in the past. However, I never had a group in which the male-female dynamic didn't somehow cock things up.
My Path is not about drugs, orgies, and/or mindless levels of misrule. There will be none of this...
and none of this...
I am fairly well housebound. My students are going to have to come to me. Therefore, they must have their own transportation. I don't care what that may be. This...
This...
I don't care, as long as it gets you here.
Students are expected to learn and study, but they also are expected to pitch in and give a hand with rituals, after ritual clean-up, and even cooking feast food.
.
.
After all, I can't cook a lick. I may call upon you to play fetch when it come to tea, but that's easy. I use K-cups.
.
There HAS to be respect for your Elders. That doesn't just mean me...
...but the other Elders in the tradition.
I'm not saying we are perfect, or will demand ultimate power over you, but we've paid our dues. We intend to cherish every member of our Path. We expect to be honored for our knowledge in return.
There will be no drama queens.
There will be no inflated egos or viewing the group as a competition.
There will be no playing the victim.
Sometimes, I think that is the worst. The individual who manipulates others by being the martyr, or the faux comforter of others. Ultimately, they spread rumor, ill-will, and drive wedges between Coven members.
There will be no drama queens.
(Bears repeating.)
Students are expected to support and assist each other.
Students are expected to KEEP SECRET what they are taught. This is to make sure those outside the Craft don't misuse what YOU are being TAUGHT to do.
These are the basics. I would really like to see this come into being...
.. but will leave it in the hands of the gods.
In Sherlock news: There is a new teaser for the Xmas special below, and don't forget "Mr. Holmes" is in theatres today!
